Privacy Policy

Rivals LFG is a free, volunteer-run LFG (“looking for group”) board for our Marvel Rivals Discord community. The website and our Discord bot share one board, so posts made in either place show up in both.

We’re an independent community project. We’re not affiliated with Marvel, NetEase Games or Discord, and they don’t receive anything from us beyond what’s described below.

When you log in with Discord

We ask Discord for the identify permission only. That gives us your Discord user ID, username, display name and avatar. We never receive your email address, password, server list or Discord messages, and we can’t post or act as you on Discord. If you’re in our Discord server, the bot also notes that you’re a member and which server roles you have — that powers member badges and moderator tools.

What you post and send

• LFG posts you create on the site or with the /lfg command: rank, roles, region, platform, game mode, optional details, and when you posted, edited or closed them.
• Profile details you choose to add: your Marvel Rivals UID, links to your social profiles and an email address. All of them are optional.
• Messages in the Discord LFG channels (the main one and the channel for each game mode). The bot mirrors ordinary messages from those channels onto the public board, word for word, including the names of anyone you mention and the names and sizes of attachments (not the files themselves). Edits and deletions in Discord are reflected on the board.
• Private messages you exchange with other players on the site, with timestamps and read status.
• LFG alerts you save (the filters they watch for, and whether they’re on) and the notifications they create when a new post matches.
• Reports and blocks you make, and your settings (such as Discord DM notifications).

To keep things running and safe

• Sessions: a random login token (we store only a hash of it), your browser’s user agent, and a keyed hash of your IP address — never the raw address.
• Moderation records: reports, restrictions, removed posts and a log of moderator actions.
• Rate-limit counters that expire on their own, and short-lived technical logs used to fix problems.

Cookies

We use three first-party cookies: your login session, a short-lived one that protects the Discord login (10 minutes), and your light/dark theme choice. No advertising or analytics cookies, and no tracking across other sites.

• To show the board and your profile, and keep your posts and messages tied to your account.
• To publish posts made on the site into the Discord LFG channel for their game mode, and mirror messages from those channels onto the board.
• To deliver private messages and optional Discord DM notifications about them.
• To tell you when a new LFG post matches one of your alerts, on the site and, if you allow it, by Discord DM.
• To prevent spam and abuse (rate limits, blocks, reports, and an automatic filter that stops slurs and similar language in posts and messages) and to let moderators enforce the rules.
• To debug and keep the service reliable.

LFG posts are public — anyone can read them, including people without an account and search engines. That includes messages mirrored from the Discord LFG channels, and posts made on the site are also published into Discord by our bot. Your public profile shows your display name, username, avatar, when you joined, your live posts, the Marvel Rivals UID and social links you add and, if you’re in our server, a member badge. Your email address stays private unless you choose to show it on your profile.

Private messages are private between the two people in the conversation. Moderators only see message content when someone reports it.

When someone messages you on the site, our bot may send you a Discord DM with a short preview and a link back to the conversation. When new posts match your LFG alerts, it may send one DM listing them (at most one every few minutes). This only works if Discord lets the bot reach you. We record whether the last DM was delivered so we can tell you if notifications are failing. You can turn DM notifications off any time on Notifications.

• Posts stay on the board for 7 days, or until you close or delete them. After that they leave the board, stay visible to you in My posts and to moderators, and are removed in periodic clean-ups.
• Deleted posts disappear from the board and, for posts made on the site, from Discord right away. For a message you wrote in a Discord LFG channel, delete it in Discord and the board follows.
• Sessions end when you log out, or automatically after 30 days without use.
• Private messages are kept until you ask us to delete them.
• LFG alerts are kept until you delete them. Alert notifications are deleted automatically after 30 days.
• Background job records (for example, whether a Discord notification was delivered) are deleted after 14 days.
• Moderation records are kept for as long as they’re needed to keep the community safe.

We don’t sell your data, and we don’t show ads. We share data only where the service needs it:

• Discord — posts are published into the LFG channels and notifications are sent as DMs, through Discord.
• Our hosting and database providers, who store and process data on our behalf.
• Authorities, only if the law requires it.

• Edit, close or delete your posts any time from My posts.
• Turn Discord DM notifications off, or pause and delete your LFG alerts, from Notifications.
• Log out of every device from Settings.
• Block anyone from their profile or your conversation with them.
• Revoke our access in Discord under Settings → Authorized Apps.
• Ask for a copy of your data, or for your account, posts and messages to be deleted — ask a moderator in our Discord server. We’ll confirm it’s really your Discord account first.

You need to meet Discord’s minimum age for your country to use Rivals LFG, since you log in with a Discord account.
